A verifiable competence record shows what was demonstrated and how it was graded, sealed with an Ed25519 signature — so an employer, an institution, or the learner themselves can confirm it in seconds without taking anyone's word for it.

Is a GradiumOS Signal a blockchain token or NFT?

Accepted Answer

No. A Signal is an Ed25519 cryptographic signature over a structured competence record. It lives off-chain, is verified against its Ed25519 signature, and contains no personal data. There is no token, no ledger, no wallet.

What stops a learner from faking a Signal?

Accepted Answer

A Signal cannot be self-issued. It is signed by the GradiumOS system only after assessed demonstration of competence. Anyone can paste a Signal into the public verifier — if the signature does not match the public key, it returns invalid. There is no "unverified" state.

Does verification expose the learner's identity?

Accepted Answer

No. The verifier confirms whether the Signal is valid and shows its competence bands — never a name, institution, or contact detail. Privacy is not a feature we added — it is a constraint the product was built around, under India's DPDP Act 2023.

How often does the Gradium Index change?

The Index is demand-recalibrated. As employers post new roles and the extracted skill demand shifts, the readiness standard shifts with it. What was sufficient last cycle may not be sufficient this cycle. That is the point.
